Second edition of Goa Heritage Festival begins on January 7 at Saligao

The 2nd edition of the Goa Heritage Festival was inducted by Francis D’Souza, Deputy CM, Goa in the presence of Dilip Parulekar, Minister of Tourism, Woman & Child Development, Government of Goa; & Nilesh Cabral, MLA and Chairman, Goa Tourism Development Corporation on 7th of Jan, 2014 at the Football Ground in Saligao. The inaugural session saw input of over 4,000 guests, as per a report.

The Festival showcased Goa heritage through stall displays of Goan arrays sucha as sausages, cashew feni, wood craft, coconut shell craft, crochet and needle work, terracotta, hand-painted tiles, Loka Daij, heritage photo gallery, etc. Parulekar said, “Every Goan should be proud of their heritage and culture. We are pleased to arrange the 2nd annual Heritage Festival by the beautiful Mae de Deus church that is a one twenty five-year-old heritage construction. We look forward to that all tourists eyewitness this Carnival and enjoy Goa’s rich heritage.”

Tourists also got an option to watch the Divli-naach, Mando, Goff dance, Ganesh Vandana, tarang. The Coa Tourism Department campaign to make this event an annual scheme and spread out it to include many more local performers and Goan culture to give visitors a healthy experience of Goa.
