I discovered Classic Taj Tours on the internet, while browsing the possibility of visiting India and some potential itineraries. We had looked at the large established companies, their glossy brochures and their, even more, glossy prices and soon realised that most of them were charging high prices for a relatively short stay. Any extras, or additional days, came at an expensive premium. Then I found Classic Taj Tours. They had itineraries that nearly suited what we were looking for and after a few emails exchanged with Mr Mohamed Saad, it became obvious that we (the customers) could suggest any scheme that we wanted and they would fit in. Too good to be true??? We thought so as well.

We put our ideas to Mr Saad and were given a price for the package, which did not include flights, but seemed very good value for money. Classic Taj Tours were still just a name on the internet. After several email assurances from Mr Saad, we decided to take the plunge and booked a 12 day package to Delhi, Jaipur, Ranthambore (tigers) & Agra (Taj Mahal). We were offered 3, 4 or 5 star accommodation, with obvious price adjustments and settled on the 4 star hotels. A good move as it turned out.

Having paid our 25% deposit by credit card, we booked flights and were away. We arrived in Delhi at 5.10 am to be greeted by Mr Saad and Suresh, our driver for the next two weeks.

The holiday was superb. Suresh became our protector and mentor, liaising with guides (included in price) to show us the various locations, sights and attractions. He was also very amenable to changes in timings.

Having seen the sights of Jaipur, tigers at Ranthamborethe and the Taj Mahal, we had made a last moment change and decided to experience Indian trains, so took the Shatabdi express from Agra to Delhi. Suresh left early and drove the 200km to meet us at the station in Delhi.

We had a truly memorable time in India, made even more so by the expert management of our requirements by Mr Saad, Suresh and Classic Taj Tours.

Mr. Saad was excellent on quick returning emails and was very gracious host. All the hotels provided were excellent except minor air-conditioning problem at Khajuraho hotel. Local representative at all the destinations were very helpful. All the guides were good and especially guide of Delhi and Khajuraho impressed us most, they were gracious host and went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Our driver Mr. Suresh was fantastic. He was very safe and actually a good tour guide. We trusted him for our safety and with tips for things to do and see.

After 10 days we are sad to say good bye to India. I was skeptical at first to sending money at first to company I haven’t heard of. But on warm welcome I am glad to say that our expectations exceeded. We highly recommend our trip. I was impressed with all of the details in planning and extras.

Our tour executive was very positive and helpful. All the hotels were neat and clean. Especially Ratanvilas at Jodhpur was great. All the guides were very good and especially guides at Jaipur, Pushkar, and Udaipur were great. Udaipur guide went above and beyond to make our experience memorable one. Our driver Sunderlal was flexible, accommodating, safe and friendly. We felt very comfortable with him. Highly recommended!

Being able to see how things are made was one of the favorite parts of trip because I was not expecting it. I loved the rug shop in Delhi and the jewelry shop in Jaipur – great people! However street shopping in each city was interesting.

My overall experience was very positive and wonderful. All the people were amazing to get to know and spend my time with. The hotel food was awesome and had great Indian options. The moments and people of India and celebration of Diwali will always be remembered.

Many thanks again for organizing our tour of Agra, Jaipur, Pushkar and Jodphur in early September. We had a fantastic time travelling around Rajastan with Banshi behind the wheel. I travel around the world with my job and I often employ drivers to take me around while I'm in a country - I have used drivers in many places including Pakistan, Indonesia and many countries in Africa, and I have to say that Banshi is one of the most skillful, attentive and safest drivers I have used. We gave him a tough challenge to get us round Rajasthan in a very short space of time, but he did so in a very accomplished manner. Your work in organizing the tour was very much appreciated by my wife and I, and although it was hectic, it was a very memorable experience. The guides in Agra, Jaipur and Jodphur were all very good (Jodphur in particular), with all guides showing excellent knowledge of the sites we visited. Classic Taj Tours created a wonderful Indian experience for us. We found them online and sent them our extensive “wish list.” We like customizing our travels to explore our particular interests on our schedule. Using email, our trip coordinator Mr. Saad promptly advised us on the best possible itinerary for our month-long trip in March. He helped us pare down our ambitions; suggested the interesting Elephant Festival in Jaipur; and complied with our unusual request to see horse racing in Mumbai. We set off on our trip with a clear, detailed itinerary combining air, rail, and road travel and included a cell phone for our use. Mr. Saad was available day or night if we needed him and frequently checked in with our drivers and guides. He met us at airports and train stations, made sure luggage found us, and calmly handled some logistical challenges that developed. The guides in each city were well-spoken, informative, and always prepared to assist. Our drivers were generally good even though stops for directions were common. We chose to stay in home stays (similar to bed and breakfasts), which gave us great contact with the people of India. These private quarters in family homes were clean and charming and the food was wonderful. The families were smart and interesting, warm and caring. We highly recommend this form of lodging in India, particularly if you want to get a sense of the “real” India. The sights were impressive and the multiple layers of history are ever-present. The people were kind and always smiling. Be prepared for the traffic, smog, and long rides, but India is so vast and interesting that these become minor details.

India was a great pleasure and we thank Mr. Saad and Classic Taj Tours for their help. When we return to India, we will be using their services again.

The Golden Triangle Tour was the highlight of our month long medical travel to New Delhi, India. In January of 2007, my wife and I traveled to New Delhi for medical treatment.
