Located at the backdrop of the Himalayas and the river Beas cascading through the serene and tranquil locales, makes Manali a perfect weekend getaway. Be it summers or winters, this tourist spot is for all seasons. When you get over with the mundane city life, escape into the misty meadows of this placid and calm hill station. Manali used to be the summer destination for the British, during their ruled India. Since their ouster, Indians have taken the beauty of Manali into their hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can just sit back, relax and soak in the fresh air or just indulge in some exciting adventure sports. Manali is a stop point for many adventure enthusiasts. You can be one of them. Beas Kund and Chandrakhani Pass are some of the trekking hubs in Manali. White water rafting and paragliding are very famous with tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a first timer, you may need to get a taxi to help you with various destinations but if you are a frequent weekend getaway freak to Manali, then routes will be very handy for you and will cost you less as well. A must visit site is Rohtang pass which happens to be the highest point in Manali. You can get a panoramic view of the mountains spread over the horizons. It also makes for a perfect clicking moment. Solang valley (13 km northwest of Manali) is more adventures during snow drizzling. It is famous for its ski lift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also enjoy waterfalls. Rahala falls and Rozi falls cut through the mountain to give a magical and picturesque view. The hill station is also known for its religious heritage sites. It is believed that <em>Saptrishis<\/em> used to reside in Manali and was also abode to Rishi Vashist. The temple dedicated to Vashist and the hot water springs are a site worth visiting. Another temple dedicated to the Mahabharata character Hidimba was built during 1553 AD. The temple has a unique five-story pagoda and is very famous among the tourists and locals. Gorge into some tantalizing <em>Himachali<\/em> cuisine during your trip. Manali market is full of eating joints, cafes and restaurants to tickle your taste buds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manali is at a driving distance of 550 kms from Delhi. The roads are well maintained, and the hill station is easily accessible by bus or train.
